At Skars Landscape Lighting, we install professional-grade outdoor lighting systems using products from trusted manufacturers. Our products are backed by manufacturer warranties designed to provide long-term reliability and performance.
Product warranties are provided by the original manufacturer and vary based on the specific fixture, component, and application. Many residential landscape lighting products include lifetime limited warranties, while certain specialty products, smart controls, commercial fixtures, and bollard lighting may have shorter warranty periods.
Skars Landscape Lighting will assist customers with the manufacturer warranty process for eligible products installed by Skars.
Warranty Coverage
Manufacturer warranties generally cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. If a covered product failure occurs within the applicable warranty period, the manufacturer may repair, replace, or provide credit for the defective product according to their warranty terms.
Warranty coverage applies only to the product itself. Warranty terms, coverage periods, and remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer’s warranty policy.
Warranty Limitations and Exclusions
Product warranties do not apply to products that have been subjected to:
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, vandalism, accidents, or improper maintenance
- Improper installation, modification, or repairs performed by anyone other than Skars Landscape Lighting or an authorized service provider
- Use of unauthorized parts, accessories, or components
- Damage caused by power surges, electrical spikes, or voltage outside the manufacturer’s specified operating range
- Damage caused by extreme weather events or acts of nature, including lightning, flooding, hail, tornadoes, fire, earthquakes, hurricanes, or other severe conditions
- Water damage caused by improper drainage, irrigation spray, flooding, submersion, or exposure beyond the product’s intended application
Finish and Appearance Changes
Outdoor lighting products are exposed to natural weather conditions and environmental factors. Natural brass and copper fixtures will develop a patina and may oxidize or change color over time. Other finishes, including powder coatings and painted surfaces, may fade, discolor, or weather due to sunlight, irrigation systems, reclaimed water, salt exposure, coastal conditions, and other environmental factors.
These normal changes in appearance are considered natural aging and are not covered under product warranties.
Warranty Ownership and Transfer
Manufacturer warranties typically apply only to the original purchaser and may not be transferable to subsequent property owners unless specifically stated by the manufacturer.
Labor and Installation Costs
Manufacturer product warranties generally cover the defective product only. Costs associated with removal, troubleshooting, replacement installation, service calls, or other labor-related expenses may not be covered unless specifically stated by the manufacturer.
